Launched on January 6, 2009, the My Florida Hikes social network complements Florida Hikes! by providing a forum for hikers to actively share photos and video, comment on each others media, write blog posts, contribute events, and connect with each other as friends. In less than 10 days time, the community grew to more than 100 hikers. Best of all, the site includes widgets so members can share their slide shows and videos on their own websites or other social media networks like Facebook and MySpace.
