Developing a website that the F-Troop trail crews could share and the Florida Trail crew manager could maintain was a task Sandra Friend was put to back in 2006 while she was Communications Director of the Florida Trail Association. She installed Wordpress and set up the initial layout, and staff took it over from there.
It’s gone through several changes since then, but the effort did bring Sandra an award in 2007 from the USDA Forest Service Regional Forester’s Office in Atlanta for increasing volunteerism through the use of New Media techniques.
