They are still going strong with great steaks and a great piano player to accompany the fine meals. They are celebrating 60 years this year.
This fall we ate at the Clewiston Inn after they brought back the Old South Bar B Q. While it doesn’t look like this anymore (it still looks like the Colonial Dining Room of the Clewiston Inn), the food is amazingly tasty … especially those St. Louis Ribs and 10-Cheese Macaroni and Cheese! Swampy visits Billy’s Tap Room on Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach. This bar and restaurant has been a staple in northern Volusia County since 1922. The feeling of an old English pub mixes so very well with the bar and good food served.
A stop in Panama City Beach at the landmark Thomas Donuts. For more than 50 years folks have stopped at this doughnut retreat. There is more than doughnuts. All sorts of baked goods are available along with breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and other goodies. No dinners are served. There is outside ordering and inside seating, which is to the left side of the building. Swampy seems confused being at the window to the right. Those folks waiting are at the window to go and pick up there doughnuts and head to the beach.
